Abi joined Place Services in September 2024 as an Assistant Historic Environment Record Officer. In her role she works with the historic environment team to systematically enhance the Essex Historic Environment Records to a new standard issued by Historic England, with the eventual aim of making the data publicly accessible.
Abi has two years of experience as an Assistant Archaeologist, and has volunteered in several HERs around the country. She graduated from Durham University with a First Class Honours degree where her research investigated Later Iron Age landscape archaeology through interrogation of HER data and spatial analysis in GIS. Abi is passionate about facilitating public engagement with the historic environment and has been involved in local community archaeology.
