Alison joined Place Services in February 2025 as a Senior Urban Design Consultant working within the Built Environment team. Alison is Panel Manager of the Essex Quality Review Panel, a local independent, multidisciplinary design panel working throughout Essex.

Alison is a built environment professional with industry experience in both planning and architectural design. With almost a decade of experience in architectural practice, which has focussed on a range of projects from the design and master planning of large residential schemes to bespoke dwellings. This includes both corporate and private work.

Alison has had the opportunity to work on various projects in Norfolk, Essex, Kent and Bath over the course of her time in architectural practice. Over the last year she has been part of the development management team within local government succeeding in a role in Planning and Enforcement.

More recently, Alison worked as a Planning & Enforcement Officer, determining a range of applications on a variety of scales within the Castle Point Borough Council, taking the necessary policies and constitution and often delivering findings to a committee, upholding decisions made if/when they were appealed through planning statements, and taking an active role in re-booting the pre-application advice service within the authority and successfully providing advice to residents and agents. 

Whilst providing an Enforcement role to the community on several complaints of breach of planning control or breach of planning conditions, she was part of the Castle Point Local Plan design policy development, and took a role pertaining to the Design Code.
