Joseph Feeney


Joe is an Urban Designer with two years’ experience, all of which has taken place at Place Services. Prior to this, he studied History at the University of Sheffield and Urban Design with International Planning at the University of Manchester.

He joined Place Services in late 2022 and has since provided a number of services, including Urban Design consultation for planning applications and NSIPs, site assessments, masterplanning, producing the Essex Design Guide’s chapter on ‘Planning for Safer and More Inclusive Places for Women and Girls’, supporting the Essex Quality Review Panel, helping to produce design codes, and providing CPD training to public sector planners.

Joe has an interest in utilising Urban Design principles to deliver housing and infrastructure in a manner which uplifts the quality of local areas and improves the living experiences of local people and prospective residents, while advancing the national interest.
