Sam joined in September 2024 as Technical Assistant, providing administration and technical support to the Place Services teams. She works closely with the Practice Manager to assist with the day-to-day running of the practice, including finance, business development and marketing, practice administration, meetings and events.
Previous roles within building/quantity surveying, architectural and town planning consultancies, have allowed Sam to build a strong understanding of the built, historic and natural environments. Her previous role as Senior Planning Technician and Business Administrator at a private planning practice, has allowed the opportunity to better develop Sam’s technical knowledge of the planning system, in particular national and local planning policy, strategic planning and masterplanning, and the material considerations and requirements needed for good development. She also has a passion for historic buildings, and has researched and produced high-quality reports using planning and historic records to identify how sites have been developed over time, which will be used inform potential future development.
Sam is well organised, conscientious and methodical, and her key strengths are reflected in her meticulous approach to working. She is looking forward to developing her career further with Place Services.
